Research Overview

KY19382 (5,6-dichloroindirubin-3'-methoxime) is a synthetic analogue of indirubin-3'-monoxime developed at Yonsei University. In the published literature it is characterised as an activator of Wnt/beta-catenin signalling that works by inhibiting the interaction between CXXC-type zinc finger protein 5 (CXXC5), a negative feedback regulator of the pathway, and dishevelled (Dvl). It was first reported in a 2019 study of growth plate senescence and longitudinal bone growth in mice, and has since been studied in hair follicle, cutaneous wound, diabetic wound and skin carcinoma models. Most of the work comes from the originating group, whose authors disclose that the compounds are licensed to a company they are affiliated with.
