Omberacetam (Noopept)
Research Overview

Omberacetam (N-phenylacetyl-L-prolylglycine ethyl ester, also known as Noopept or GVS-111) is a synthetic proline-containing dipeptide designed as an analogue of piracetam. Its solid-state and physicochemical properties, including crystal structure and polymorphism, were characterised in detail in 2025. Published research is predominantly preclinical. Studies have examined its metabolism in rat brain, neurotrophin expression in rat hippocampus, an amyloid-beta toxicity model in PC12 cells, electrophysiology in rat hippocampal slices and transcription factor activity in neuroblastoma cells.
